Year 10

EMS - English, Maths & Science

Our Year 11 preparation course has now commenced in Term 4, 2026 for current Year 10 students completing their HSC in 2028. Students are getting a head start on senior subjects before entering Year 11 in 2027, building the knowledge, study skills and confidence needed for Stage 6.

Term 4: a head start on Year 11
Our HSC 2028 preparation program bridges Year 10 skills and the Year 11 courses students begin at school in 2027.

English
Preparation for English Standard and Advanced develops close reading, textual analysis, structured responses and original writing, aligned with the 2024 syllabuses.

Mathematics
Students build the algebraic fluency, reasoning and problem-solving skills needed for their chosen Standard, Advanced or Extension 1 pathway under the 2024 syllabuses.

Science
Biology and Physics preparation aligns with the 2025 syllabuses introduced to Year 11 in 2027. Chemistry follows the 2017 syllabus for the HSC 2028 cohort. Students develop subject knowledge, data analysis and scientific reasoning.

Meet our teaching team
Our Maths team includes a seasoned Mathematics teacher who is now Deputy Principal at a high school, alongside another Mathematics teacher who achieved top marks in HSC Mathematics Extension 1 and Extension 2.

Our Chemistry and Physics teacher has over 20 years of teaching experience and two years of experience as an HSC marker.

Our English teacher is Head of English at a high school and brings a strong passion for English to every lesson.

For current Year 10 students — HSC Class of 2028.

Our Year 11 course has now commenced. Students attend the subject classes below rather than the previous Year 10 English, Maths and Science timetable.

Saturday
Mathematics Standard: 9:55 am–11:10 am
English Standard and Advanced: 12:55 pm–2:10 pm
Chemistry: 2:20 pm–3:35 pm
Physics: 3:45 pm–5:00 pm

Sunday
Biology: 11:20 am–12:35 pm (TBC)

Monday
Mathematics Advanced: 4:30 pm–6:00 pm
Mathematics Extension: 6:00 pm–7:30 pm
