Selective Tutoring

SELECTIVE TRIAL TEST COURSE
Offered from Term 2 of Year 5, continuing into Year 6 before the placement test.

Students complete timed tests, take a short break and then review questions and solutions with the teacher. A homework booklet supports follow-up practice. Up to three online retests and test-review recordings are available during the term.

TERM 4 TEST ROTATION
Odd weeks (1, 3, 5, 7 and 9): Mathematical Reasoning and Reading
Even weeks (2, 4, 6, 8 and 10): Writing and Thinking Skills

The Selective Trial Test Course exposes students to the diverse question types found in the Selective Placement Test. This structured program lays a strong foundation, equipping students with essential skills to confidently navigate the exam.

Mastering Selective Placement Test Questions
Each week, ABC teachers will guide students through the complexities of selective test questions, helping them:

Identify the true intent of each question
Develop a strategic approach to problem-solving
Apply the most effective methods for answering

Selective Trial Test Course

SELECTIVE TRIAL TEST COURSE — TERM 4, 2026
10-week course

Friday: 9 October–11 December, 5:00 pm–8:30 pm
Saturday: 10 October–12 December, 1:30 pm–5:00 pm
Sunday: 11 October–13 December, 1:30 pm–5:00 pm

FEES — full-term tuition paid in advance
Tuition: $75 per week
Materials: no additional fee
Total for Term 4: $750
WEMT student price: $700 ($70 per week), for students enrolled in both full-term courses and taking them consecutively.

Free online retests and review videos are included. Bring your own laptop or an iPad with a keyboard. College device hire is available for $10 per day.
